Don't Hold Your Breath
Headline: Florida teenager's hiccups return
She's starting to get on my phrenic nerve.
God...not this again. Would someone please put her out of her misery?A Florida teenager's intractable hiccups are back, just when she thought it was safe to return to school after the almost uninterrupted diaphragm spasm that had plagued her for five weeks subsided.
She's starting to get on my phrenic nerve.

that girl really needs to quit drinking.. esp. at her age. :)
Hey!!!! I wasn't aware that diaphragms caused hiccups!???
;P
Wow, now that should have made the Guinness Record Book or whatever it is called.
Christ, she'd be her own unique statistic!
That's right, John. Diaphrams do cause hiccups. That's why I recommend that she change to the pill.
In the linked article, the mother says that she's at her wits' end. One would think that her daughter was beyond her wits' end.
That old trick of putting a bag over your head should be applied in this case. It's just hard to figure out exactly how long to do that ....

Mindy - either that or drink more at this point.
JB - yes, they do. See X's remark.
Enemy - I think that's the driving force behind the whole thing.
Ray - I'd rather her try to hold her breath for as long as possible.
X - considering their hysteria, I suggest we all line up and slap the mom and daughter repeatedly. :)
David - a man after my own heart. hilarious!
Wow, how ridiculous, I'm happy I'm not around her because when people have the hiccups for a long time around me I start to get stressed out. I always used peanut butter to stop my hiccups, she should give it a shot, lol.
Jeff - yes, it's crazy...I'm the same as you..except I would try to feed her 400 PB&Js all at once at this point. :)
