A Scratching Post

Headline: Principal May Be Charged in Cat Killings

INDUS, Minn. (AP) - A school principal has resigned and could face felony firearm charges after he shot and killed two orphaned kittens on school property last month.
What happened to the principal being your pal? Heh.

How could anyone shoot poor little kittens? That's so barbaric! I mean, why couldn't he just drown them or hit them with his car like everyone else does?

I'm sure he thought it was the purrfect crime but I'm glad he didn't get away with it.

I wonder if they'll give him a ticket for kitty-littering as well? Wouldn't that be meowvelous?

They should give him a year's worth of detention.

Phoenix - yeah, and write "I shall not shoot kittens" across the blackboard a million times.

Ben - I'm not sure, probably in his car I would guess. Very stupid move on his part either way. Sometimes I don't know what goes through anyone's mind.

Aren't there more "deserving" targets to shoot?

"I have bred cats, and I currently own two myself," he wrote Friday in an e-mail to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I am not a cat hater. I did not want the animals to suffer."

What was wrong with taking them to a shelter or something??

Yes, his whole thinking process is a little fuzzy to me. Maybe he was attacked by kittens as a child and has been harboring resentments ever since. Who knows?! Crazy people in the world.

considering I adopted the 2nd of our two cats after he jumped on my leg at my job as a starving 7-week-old kitten, I was annoyed when I got criticized for taking him home by my co-workers...goes to show what they know, losers

(1) I don't want to go to a school where the faculty is packing.

(2) Back in the day, people used put unwanted kittens in sacks and throw them into a river to drown them. In a way, plugging them between the eyes sounds a little more humane by comparison.

x.dell - re: #2, That's exactly what my father used to do with kittens and puppies when I was young, I suppose you're right that it would've been better to shoot them instead. just not in front of kids. :)
